At the foot of Mount Rwenzori, in North Kivu (Democratic Republic of the Congo), the cooperative Kawa Kanzururu – meaning ‘coffee of the eternal snows’ – is transforming the coffee and cocoa industry with the support of Enabel’s Trade for Development Center (TDC).
25 coaches of both Enabel’s Trade for Development Centre programme and the programme on sustainable cocoa in Ivory Coast came together in Ivory Coast in May 2025 for the coaching days.
Ray & Jules combines a desire to improve the world with a background in engineering. “The coffee sector produces 60 million tons of CO2 every year. We want to bring that down to zero. It’s ambitious, but doable. Technology like ours can open up new horizons in a sector that has been doing the same thing for over a hundred years.
