In June 2022, the TDC team met Joachim Munganga, President of Sopacdi (Solidarité Paysanne pour la Promotion des Actions Café et Développement Intégral), a cooperative of coffee growers in South Kivu. He had just returned from the World of Coffee event organised in Milan by the Specialty Coffee Association. Sopacdi won third place in the competition organised by the SPP label, whose aim is to promote quality coffees from small producers.
Since 2016, Incub’Ivoir has positioned itself as a provider of support to entrepreneurs in Côte d’Ivoire. However, they needed to position themselves better in this sector and find a better business model. The TDC coaches were able to lend their support in these crucial stages.

Established in 2005, Belvas, the chocolate factory whose name stands for Belgium and “Valeur Ajoutée pour le Sud” (vas) meaning added value for the South, has made fair trade its trademark. Thierry Noesen, the founder, puts it simply, “If a customer asks for non-fair trade chocolate, we have to say we don’t do that here.”
The Cacao-Trace programme, set up in 2015 by Belgian bakery and chocolate specialist Puratos, aims to improve the living conditions of planters by focusing on improved cocoa quality, which also means increased value.
